Lite-On's EP1 series is the first M.2 PCIe drive that is certified on Aerospikes approved SSD vendor list.
We are excited to announce that Lite-On's EP1 series is the first M.2 PCIe drive that is certified on Aerospikes approved SSD vendor list. Aerospike, is a well respected company that delivers first flash-optimized in-memory noSQL database for revenue-critical, real-time big data applications.
Lite-On's first M.2 PCIe SSD, the EP1 series, which was announced at Storage Vision 2015 is now currently listed on Aerospike's SSD certification list. With heavy workloads, our drive maintains low latency throughout even in the toughest environment. The drives were tested at the specific speed with a 67% read/33% write ratio of 1.5 KB objects over a 24 hour period. Performance results are listed below.
- No more than 5% of transactions exceed 1 ms
- No more than 1% of transactions exceed 8 ms
- No more than 0.1% of transactions exceed 64 ms
Lite-On’s EP1 SSD was certified using Aerospikes high level testing database, the Aerospike Certification Tool (ACT). This is an open source platform that evaluates flash device performance by simulating a steady read/write workload, and measuring response times. This unique tool tests and certifies SSD storage devices. How the platform works is that ACT will show the latency responses when you are reading from and writing to the database concurrently while modeling the Aerospike Database server's I/O pattern as closely as practical.
Aerospike's database requires the flash drives to handle high volumes of transactions while still performing consistently with low latency response. Not all SSDs can handle the heavy sustained loads and maintain low latency. Lite-On's EP1 drives have passed the Aerospike Certification Tool (ACT) standard criteria.
